WRAP has announced Round 2 of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) competition to find innovative solutions to plastic waste. £475,000 will be awarded in Refill Infrastructure grants of between £50,000 - £150,000 for projects that trial new ways to implement refill infrastructure within an existing or new supply chain

WRAP is making its £1.5 million textiles grant fund more accessible and has streamlined the application process so that funds can be allocated more quickly. The deadline for applications – published as Thursday 18 June – no longer applies. Applications will now be assessed on a rolling basis until WRAP closes the scheme (or all funds are allocated).

The grants are intended to support projects that provide innovative ways for textile waste to be recycled or re-used, keeping it out of landfill or incineration so that it remains a valuable resource. The money is part of Defra’s £18m Resource Action Fund, set up to support key priority policy areas.

  • Recognition for the Love Food Hate Waste campaign has doubled over the last 18 months.
  • According to WRAP’s latest citizen survey, (tracking behaviours and attitudes related to wasted food), 1 in 3 people (31%) now recognise the Love Food Hate Waste logo, compared to roughly 1 in 5 (15%) in November 2018. Furthermore, those people are far more likely to adopt good food management behaviours having heard or seen Love Food Hate Waste messages.

WRAP is pleased to announce that four schemes have won grants totalling nearly £1m as part of a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) competition to find innovative solutions to plastic waste. The winning entrants to the UK Circular Plastics Flagship Projects competition demonstrated creative business ideas to reduce the environmental impacts of plastic and improve plastics recycling.
