We’re damaging our planet and it’s time for change
We’ve seen rising greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, and pollution of our planet. Some of the changes are already irreversible.
The world currently uses 1.7 planets’ worth of resources every year. It’s clear that our linear ‘take, make, dispose’ model of resource use must become a thing of the past. A new, circular approach is needed to deliver global climate and biodiversity goals.
WRAP’s policy work and business collaborations are supporting a shift to a low carbon, circular economy. WRAP has a track record in delivering sustainable business initiatives across food, textiles, and plastics, and is working with governments around the globe on the ‘how’ as well as the ‘why’ of circularity.
Our focus areas are food and drink, plastic packaging, clothing and textiles, and collections and reprocessing.
By tackling these sectors, we can move demand towards levels that could sustainably be met by the planet. Crucially, it also has the potential to satisfy the needs of a growing world population without compromising future generations to meet their needs.
