Our areas of work
We work with retailers and brands in the areas of food and drink, plastics and packaging and clothing and textiles.
WRAP's vision of a world in which resources are used sustainably is central to our work with businesses in these sectors.
What is WRAP doing?
We convene retailers and brands and work towards common targets under the Courtauld Commitment 2025, The UK Plastics Pact, Sustainable Clothing Action Plan 2020 and our new voluntary initiative for the clothing and textiles sector, Textiles 2030.
We also work with manufacturers under the UK Food Waste Reduction Roadmap, helping food businesses take targeted action to reduce waste in their own operations, their supply chain and from consumers in support of the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 12.3.
As retailers and brands the work you undertake is the driving force behind the change we need to make in achieving our voluntary agreement targets.
The leadership you show will inspire citizens to make positive behaviour change around food waste, recycling, clothing care, disposal and re-use.
Your collaboration will guide other businesses and help the supply chains make the necessary changes in the transition to a resource efficient future.
Plastics and packaging
The key actions your business can take including; redesigning packaging for greater recyclability, removing problematic plastic packaging from product portfolios, introducing re-use systems, engaging with citizens to change recycling behaviours and introducing more recycled content into packaging.
Food and drink
Retailers have a unique position within the supply chain to affect change in production, manufacturing, and consumer behaviour, as well as their own operations. Simple technical changes to date labels, packaging, sourcing and waste processes can save your organisation money as well as contributing to global goals on food waste reduction.
The UK Plastics Pact
UK Plastics Pact members are responsible for 85% of plastic packaging sold through UK supermarkets. As brands and retailers your work is critical to the delivery of the targets and to achieving a world where plastic is valued and doesn’t pollute the environment.
