Let's Go Zero - new partnership to support climate action in our schools

7 June 2023

We want to help inspire the next generation of climate action advocates, so we’re delighted to announce our partnership with Let’s Go Zero, a campaign that unites schools in becoming net zero by 2030.

Harriet Lamb, WRAP CEO, said: “I am thrilled to see WRAP join this powerful coalition of like-minded organisations to support our schools taking action on climate change.

"Harnessing the passion and energy of young people to tackle the climate crisis will take us further and faster on the journey to net zero, alongside working with government to ensure schools have the support they need to turn their ambitions into reality.

"Our schools have such a powerful influence on wider communities so the potential for positive impact and change is huge. Getting the right information and support to them via campaigns like Let’s Go Zero can achieve amazing progress, and with over 2,000 schools already signed up the appetite for action is clear to see.”

As part of the coalition we will be directing and using all the resources and knowledge WRAP has to support schools in their mission to get to net zero, promoted to schools via Let’s Go Zero channels. One of the pillars of reaching net zero includes action on waste.

We will work together to share WRAP campaigns such as Recycle Now and Love Food Hate Waste to help make recycling the norm and keep food out of the bin in schools and at home. We’ll also be sharing the Recycle Now 'The Action Pack' programme for schools and information from our Guardians Of Grub campaign, which aims to reduce the 1.1 million tonnes of food thrown away by the Hospitality and Food Service industry every year.
