• Changes in the fibres used by signatories to the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP 2020) commitment have saved as much water, per tonne of clothes sold, as a family of four each taking a bath every day for twenty-nine years would use.
• Changes since 2012 under SCAP 2020 have reduced the amount of greenhouse gases emissions, per tonne of UK clothes sold by signatories, equivalent to a car travelling around Britain’s coastline six-times*.
• Waste reduction activities by SCAP 2020 signatories has saved the equivalent to 900,000 pairs of jeans (by weight) – enough for one pair each for everyone working on Christmas Day.

The latest data and in-depth information about UK plastics recycling and reprocessing is published today by WRAP in an updated Plastics Market Situation Report (last updated in 2016).

WRAP is pleased to announce the list of companies who have been awarded the Litter Innovation Fund grant.

One year on from the launch of WRAP and IGD’s Food Waste Reduction Roadmap, and 156 UK food businesses have now committed to Target, Measure and Act on food waste. This represents more than half of UK food industry turnover, and more than double the number of food businesses committed to the Roadmap at launch (71). 

The Recycling Tracker is an annual survey of UK households that gathers evidence on recycling attitudes, knowledge and behaviours. It is the largest and longest running of its kind, having been undertaken by WRAP since 2004.

Each of the Material Flow reports estimates the quantity of the respective packaging material placed on the market (POM) and recycled in 2017, potential future levels to 2025 and the likelihood of compliance with national and European recycling targets.
