Following the launch of WRAP’s Scope 3 GHG Measurement and Reporting Protocols for Food and Drink in May 2022, which provides businesses with a consistent methodology to measure and track progress in reducing supply chain greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, 17 Courtauld Signatories from across the sector agreed to test the new materials in their business environment as part of a WRAP-led pilot programme.

The pilot provided businesses with access to a series of interactive workshops where WRAP's GHG Sector Specialists walked through the steps outlined in the Protocol and businesses shared common challenges and raised questions. It also highlighted where WRAP can provide additional guidance and refinement of the documents to make the resources accessible and useful for the diverse range of businesses in the food and drink industry.

Several businesses that participated in the Protocol pilot programme have compiled case studies which detail how the resources available have been used to begin, shape and improve their scope 3 measurement and reporting activities.

Thank you to all the businesses who engaged in the process and have been willing to share their learnings to help guide and inspire others in similar positions.
