Born and raised in Colombia, Dario has more than 25 years of experience leading international organisations focused on social and economic inclusion, climate action and public-private partnerships, including the Trafigura Foundation, Fairtrade International, the Global Water Partnership and the Trust for the Americas.
He is the former chair of the Global Commons Alliance and has held Board positions in different non-profits. He worked as a corporate lawyer early in his career.
Dario has a law degree from Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá), a Master of Laws from Tulane University and a Master in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He is a licensed attorney both in Colombia and in the State of New York.
