Sebastian Munden, WRAP Chair

Sebastian Munden has over 30 years’ experience in the fast-moving consumer products industry, creating strong competitive brands with commercial success while addressing wider responsibilities to society and the planet.

He was chief executive of Unilever UK & Ireland for five years until 2022. In this role Sebastian was one of the founding signatories to the UK Plastic Pact in 2018. Prior to this he was head of Unilever’s global marketing operations supporting the CEO and COO and held other senior roles across Europe and North America.

He is also Chair of Ad Net Zero, the advertising industry’s global programme to deliver net zero ways of working and accelerate the promotion of more sustainable behaviours, products, and services. Sebastian is co-author of a new book, Sustainable Advertising: how advertising can support a better future.

He is a senior adviser working in strategy and communication with a number of different organisations, and Chair of Campden BRI which provides analytical science and technical services to the food and drink industry.

He is currently the independent Chair of the EPR Scheme Administrator interim steering group for the UK and has served on policy and steering groups for The Food & Drink Federation, The Institute of Grocery Distribution, The Inclusive Economy Partnership run by the Cabinet Office, and for Movement to Work, a charity supported by many employers to introduce young people to the workplace through a life-changing placement. He chaired a policy review on the Future of the Local Economy for the British Chambers of Commerce.

Sebastian is married and has two adult children. He is a passionate supporter of classical music, Harlequins rugby club and vegetarian cooking.
