Our research aims to help you better understand who recycles and why, and the barriers that prevent people from recycling more things, more often. Our campaign resources are available free of charge to support the delivery of local initiatives to increase both the quality and quantity of recycling in Northern Ireland.
Regular recycling tracker surveys show that recycling is a normalised behaviour in Northern Ireland, with the majority of citizens saying they regularly recycle. WRAP works with National Communications Advisory Panel (NCAP) to deliver Recycle Now in Northern Ireland including localised campaign assets such as NI Recycles.
WRAP developed the citizen-facing My Recycling NI website to share the story of what happens to Northern Ireland's household waste and recycling and to address one of the key knowledge barriers to recycling.
Recycle Week is Recycle Now's flagship annual event which is a celebration of recycling across the nation. Recycle Week 2023 took place between 16-22 October 2023. The theme - The Big Recycling Hunt - focused on “missed capture”: the items that can be recycled but are commonly missed in the home.
Love Food Hate Waste
WRAP leads the delivery of its Love Food Hate Waste campaign in Northern Ireland. The consumer food waste prevention campaign is informed by WRAP’s food behaviour tracker surveys and delivered with the support of local campaign partners.
